Goldfinches is a Bristol-based quartet comprising songwriter Shaun McCrindle (guitar and vocal), bouzouki and guitar player John Slattery, double bass player James Anderson, and violinist Paul Meager. The group started out as a trio called Shozzo and their diverse repertoire might be described as New Wave folk music, fusing traditional sounds with modern songwriting influences.


Goldfinches recorded their debut album, ‘Shanti Time’, in a country house in Devon last summer. The album is due for release in late Spring of 2025. You can watch a short video about the album recording on the band’s socials.


Shaun McCrindle has been writing songs in Bristol bands for over 30 years and has recorded many albums, releasing them under his own name, as Mr Shaun, with Glass Angel, and with Rock n Roll Angels.
